Visiting Mammoth Lakes in the shoulder season.

Arriving into Mammoth Lakes was quite a change after having the last 8 nights in two different desert locations; Death Valley and Joshua Tree. Suddenly, we were into single digits temperatures, and out came the winter gear for the next four nights!

First night madness witnessed an epic sunset at Twin Lakes; best we’ve seen in a long time. Shame we had to fumble around in the dark looking for compositions. This led us into a great nights sleep and waking for a glowing sunrise at Convict Lake the next day. To complete our first full day in Mammoth Lakes, we hiked up to Lake Mary and Horseshoe Lake.
