Scales & Tales - Chord Form Soloing

Описание к видео Scales & Tales - Chord Form Soloing

Here's the next episode of Scales & Tales with Chord Form Soloing. The premise behind this lesson comes from a lesson that I've used with private lesson students for decades, and after noticing a number of players having luck and opening some new doors using these ideas and concepts - I figured it was finally time to create a video for the channel exploring the basics of this soloing approach and melodic strategy on the fretboard.

Be sure not to confuse "chord tone soloing" with what we're discussing here, as 'Chord Form Soloing' uses a similar concept/approach (as we're targeting chord tones melodically), but this idea revolves around targeting specific chord fingerings and shapes on the fretboard and then transforming the chord forms into melodic phrases that could easily be used for licks, fills, solos, and much more!

There are tons of legendary players that have explored this concept in their music - including icons like Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, Mick Ronson, Larry Carlton, Eddie Van Halen, and countless others. Some of the song-based examples in this episode include timeless rock guitar moments suck as Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb,' Van Halen's 'Runnin' With The Devil,' 'Jessica' by Allman Brothers Band, and much more!

If you're a player searching for some fresh ideas/twists for coming up with new ideas for licks, phrases, solos, and more, with a few classic rock licks and phrases to use as general examples and idea launching pads - this lesson is totally for you!
