Understanding the Power of Luminosity in Landscape Photography

In this video we head out on a dreadfully wet and snowy Scottish winter day and find a nice waterfall near home. After getting soaked we head back to the studio and I process some images demonstrating how to affect Luminosity & Contrast to create transitions.

Transitions allow the viewer to engage with an image far more effectively, as they are taken from areas of war to cold, dark to light, or textured to atmospheric.

I demonstrate the use of Tony Kuyper's Luminosity Masks and how to make very detailed selections that allow us to dodge or burn in extreme detail.
