We don't normally service these sets as results are usually disappointing, along with reliability. These were a 1999-2002 era model.

Set came in as dead other than lighting up. Upon test, PA was working.

I checked the synthesiser & it appeared to be running & suspected the fault to be in the VCO. Passing the set onto Mr Chippie, he worked on it using our video microscope & sorted out dry joints under the VCO sheild plate.

After realigment back on my bench the radio is doing a full 4W output, but only a 1uV receive sensitivity, just as expected from this chassis.

I forgot to switch Picture-in-picture on for this video.
