Bird flu, inflation and supply chain issues cast shadow over Thanksgiving celebrations in US

Inflation is casting a pall in the US, where Americans are preparing to mark Thanksgiving. The price of turkey is up at record levels. Soaring prices and lingering supply chain issues are also making it harder to be thankful when it comes to paying for the annual feast. Avian flu has killed more than five million birds in the US, over the course of 2022. According to some estimates turkey prices have risen more than 20% compared to last year.
