Two rotator cuff surgeries failed to fix Rob Bilkey's injured shoulder. The joint would pop out as many as 20 times a day, making it impossible to work and difficult to sleep. Loyola Medicine orthopaedic surgeon Dane Salazar, MD, was able to repair Mr. Bilkey's shoulder with a procedure called a superior capsular reconstruction. The shoulder no longer pops out and Mr. Bilkey has returned to work and has good function and range of motion.
