Callibaetis and Stillwater go together like Coffee and Donuts. These little bugs are of great importance to Stillwater fisheries and cannot be ignored. Rickard’s Callibaetis Nymph is a great fly to have in your Stillwater arsenal. The color and profile of this fly do a superb job of imitating the early stages of the Callibaetis nymph. This fly is best fished under an indicator or on a sinking line. When on the water, make sure to give this bug some movement as Callibaetis nymphs are strong swimmers. They also love subsurface vegetation so be sure to look for weed beds and other underwater structures. Wade deep or break out the float tube and give this one a go.
