Welcome to the Green Wasp Removal Youtube Channel! In this episode, we continue training and mentoring the Manchester University Wasp Survey Team, on July 2, 2024, as they were called upon to clear a very interesting observatory building of every wasp nest they could find, in order to make it safe for upcoming inspection and refurbishing work.
The team found and removed over 100 nests made by various species of beneficial native mud wasps, and also native paper wasps! The older nest specimens were collected for archive and study, and the live nests with their adult wasps, were collected for relocation.
The team was able to save many beneficial native paper wasps, and their eggs, larvae and pupae, for relocation. We’ll show you the process of how we set up a temporary habitat for the native paper wasps and their six live nests, until they could be relocated.
As always, thanks for riding along with us. If you enjoy the content on our channel, please like, share, subscribe and comment to let us know you’re there! Enjoy the show!
