Make a Smiley Face Tie Dye!!

This video shows you how to tie and dye a smiley face.

1. Shirt is soaked overnight in soda ash, spun out in a washing machine and hang dried.
2. Find center of front of shirt, push one sleeve into another and flatten front of shirt.
3. Draw smiley face with washable marker.
4. Pleat along lines, keeping them straight and bind with sinew
5. Dye each section. Use as many or as few colors as you want.
6. Flip your piece and dye each section on that side.
7. Let cure for 24 hours at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
8. Open piece and wash in washing machine. Two cold cycles and one hot cycle. You can put newly opened tie dye in the same wash or use old fabric (I use old towels if I only have one or two new tie dye pieces).
9. Hang dry.
