J.S. Bach - Prelude in G major BWV 568

This video is featuring the Prelude in G major, BWV 568, by J.S. Bach.
Musicologists are unanimous in affirming that this is a work of youth, whose cultural graft should be found in Bach's immediate predecessors, above all in Nicolaus Bruhns.
The Prelude in G major is a kind of "overture" with all the characteristics of triumphalism here greatly emphasized with doubling chords and with Pedal themes fluttering between semiquaver bars, a symbol, according to Pirro, of joy and exultation.
The same fire, the same cheerfulness of a composition by Bruhns, but less accentuated, by contrast crossed by sad episodes. Perhaps Bach, in his unrivaled depth, never misses an opportunity to remind us that true joy cannot exist without sadness.


Welcome to this YouTube channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.

The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
