Lake District Walks: The Loneliest Lake

Описание к видео Lake District Walks: The Loneliest Lake

A Lake District walk around the shore of remote Devoke Water, which is situated in the south west of the English Lake District National Park in Cumbria.

Devoke water is the most remote small lake in the Lake District. It is classified as a Lake District Tarn, in fact it is the largest such body of water in the National Park, being almost a mile long. It is situated on Birker Fell, which lies between Eskdale and Dunnerdale, the valley of the River Duddon.

It is surrounded by five peaks featured in Wainwright's guide to the outlying fells. However, that is not the reason for my visit. I'm much more interested in uncovering the hidden history of this remote part of the English Lake District National Park.
