API 6A wellhead and Christmas tree equipment is a very complicated specification. The spec covers a wide variety of equipment. I will specifically cover the valve portion of the spec. There are 3 different PSL levels listed in the spec. I will show you an overview of each.


The specification gives pretty straight forward requirements when it comes to pressure, number of test and holding times. In this video I broke down each PSL in to 3 categories.


I hope this gives you a better understanding of each different PSL. I may show you how the test is performed on an actual valve in a future video. If you feel unsure if the information is correct.
