The first thing I'll tell you is that the AMAP III is like a regular backpack at 15.7 inches tall, 11 inches wide, and 8 inches in depth. A lot of these rear packs suffer from being small and discrete which oftentimes comes at the cost of usefulness. I really like the AMAP III because I use it as a normal day pack and I use it in that configuration almost daily. But then the whole thing can just connect to my plate carrier and be ready to go!

Looking over the AMAP III and starting with the shoulder pads, you'll see actual full-size shoulder pads that are padded and fit the body in a nice ergonomic flow. You don't just get two one-inch strips of fabric that other companies pass off as a functional backpack. The front of the shoulder pads have D-rings, an elastic loop to retain your drinking tube, a clasp in the center to connect the two sides, and multiple molle sections to connect in whatever you're looking to add.

A big trick of the shoulder pads is that they're also removable quickly. Just lift up on the shoulder pad tab and slide it through the slot and the shoulder pads come right off. Allowing you to quickly just toss the whole setup on a carrier.

The top of the bag also has an extremely stout carry handle that also has two quick access tabs if you need to put the end of your...."umbrella" out the top of the pack. There is also a hole in the center for your drinking tube. The sides of the pack also have 4 rows of 3 molle sections to add-in tools, gear, or clips. I use this area to hook in a carabiner to hold my gloves for easy access.

Moving to the front of the AMAP III, we see the same hook and loop segment that is on the front of the Agilite K19. So does this mean you can hook placards into it? Yes! It does. You could hook in a placard with G-hooks or use the ITW QASM clips to connect in a placard to the front of the carrier.

Below this is another 2 rows of loopback molle that you can connect gear into or use to connect your placard into. Below is another small pouch area that can also be unfolded to give you the ability to secure larger items such as a ballistic helmet. I found my team Wendy fit in there without issue.

Inside the pack, we see a large open area with loopback on both sides of the pack. This allows you to connect in other gear such as the Agilite EDC organizer. The main pack also has a large zippered area to access the water bladder section along with organization for pens, chem lights, or other do-dads on the side of the pack.

Connecting the AMAP III into the Agilite K19 is easy as you remove the hook cover on the rear of the pack and connect the 4 clips to have your AMAP iii connected in seconds to your plate carrier. If you had a significant load, you can lift up on the Agilite K19 shoulder pads to reveal the AMAP III connection. Just slide the connection on the K19 through the AMAP shoulder pads and then you have a super-secure connection and the entire weight of the pack distributed in a better way.
