Long Lining - Starting Young Horses Correctly (Video #12)

The importance of long lining and starting young horses off correctly and confidently.
Teaching your horse good ground work is invaluable. Moving onto long lining, often called long reining is a great tool for many reasons.
For me it’s riding your horse on the ground, teaching them to be more confident with out you by their side. Building up strength and muscle with out the weight of a rider. Working with two lines correctly can help with straightening and strengthening your horse and to help with confidence and balance.
When ready moving onto lateral work on the long lines can really set you up well before you get on board a young horse.
It’s such fun to watch and observe as your horse progresses up the levels of training too.
