Recreating My Favourite Locomotive - Upgrading The Rapido 16" Hunslet!

Can I recreate my all time favourite locomotive by upgrading the Rapido 16" Hunslet?

As many of you may know, my all time favourite locomotive is the 16" Hunslet. But one in particular holds a special place in my heart - Primrose No2. This was the first real steam locomotive I ever saw and it made and to say it made an impression would be quite an understatement.

Of course when Rapido release their 00 gauge model of the 16" Hunslets I was absolutely delighted, but of course the model of Primrose they made depicted the locomotive in her original black livery rather than the lined maroon I remember from the 90s. They did make Beatrice in this livery though and so I started formulating a plan to recreate my all time favourite loco.

Not content with stopping there, I'll also be adding DCC Sound to the model and a stay alive too for the best possible running quality. It all sounds great on paper, but will it work in reality? Keep watching to find out!
