(20 Apr 2014) After a Sunday afternoon among the animals at Sydney's Taronga Zoo, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son Prince George flew to Canberra.
They were greeted at the Royal Australian Air Force base, Fairbairn, by the Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, and Australia's Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop.
There representing the Australian opposition Labor party was local member of parliament Andrew Leigh, whose son caught the eye of the Duchess of Cambridge and got a special moment with Prince George.
The Duchess received a posy of flowers from six-year-old Samantha Hendy, who also gave Prince George a present.
The royal family were then whisked away to Yarralumla, the Governor General's Canberra residence.
They will spend the evening there, as well as Monday, which is a day off from their public schedule.
