67-year-old eccentric master carpenter Yang Saner, a man who balances determination and stubbornness with wit and charm, hasn't done a day's paid work since he began building a Japanese-style timber frame house for the family seventeen years ago. Thankfully, his happy-go-lucky wife, Chen Huijuan, has willingly financed the building work and supported the family with proceeds from her restaurant throughout the years. In this episode, we discover how Hujuan and Saner keep the flame burning bright in their relationship; what influence the family's alternative living has had on the family; and why the house building mysteriously seems to go on and on and on...!
