Mario Kart Hot Wheels - DK Mountain

Who is going to win?!?! Mario vs Bowser vs Toad vs Wario

This one was a ton of fun to film! Here are some fun facts about this film.
1. We filmed this video in the Uinta Mountains at our Family Cabin. I didn't realize this until I was editing the video that a DEER appeared in one of the scenes! Can you find her?

2. MY GOPRO FELL DOWN a small crack in the boulders and I couldn't reach it! When I was filming Mario and Bowser on the big boulders. I thought I was safe using the taller tracks, but unfortunately the GoPro Hot Wheels car hit a bump and fell off the track and rolled into a crack and then fell about 3 feet deep down a 3 inch gap! I was so upset by this. I had done 90% of my GoPro filming at that point and had LOST EVERYTHING! Fortunately I had an idea. I ran to a hardware store and grabbed a strong Magnet and was able to wiggle it down the deep crack and grab onto the GoPro and carefully guide it out. The GoPro car became detached, so it is still there where it will likely forever remain. But this definitely set me back a day on filming. , so I only had 3 days to film this. I actually used the footage of the GoPro falling down this crack at 1:04 when Mario gets hit by the red shell.

3. I really wanted to use the gliders for this one. I got a close hanging pulley that I hot glued to the characters and then strung fishline and then filmed them going backwards. Then in my video editing, I reversed the footage to make it look like they were flying. For the scene behind Toad, I was running out of time for filming and basically Hot glued him to a hanger.

4. The Star Power scene. I cut out a piece of track to connect my GoPro Hot Wheels car to Mario. That way it would be always the same distance of separation, so that when I was changing the colors for the star power, it wouldn't take much editing time. The hard part was how do I get him to go across the entire bridge?!? I accomplished that by attaching a fishline to him on the front of his pipe frame and then I was on the opposite side of the bridge, reeling him in. You can see at one point...I didn't hide as well as I wish I would have.

As always, special thanks to ‪@PanmanMusic‬ for providing the audio for these videos. The music for this video was GNC DK Mountain. Make sure to check out his channel. This guy is amazing!
