now this is adlem st james church with 6 bells and 2 clock faces oppositte each other one is black and gold the other one is a skeliton clock face only not roman numerals no just battons the clock chimes every hour and the quarters westminsters chimes on 4 bells and strikes the hours on the 6th bell as well so the tenor must have 2 hammers outside so it must use every quarter and full hours chiming and then the other hammer hits the hours to strike the hours on the same bell so maby thats what happens there yes by stuart mills bellringer friend now adlem bells were cast in 1736 by abel rudhall of gloucester and rehung on in an oak frames by mr snead problaby john sneyd who also hung the bells at other towers in the eria such as newcastle under lyme in 1891 the bells were rehung in the same frams with new fittings in the 1990s the bearings and pulleys were replaced the bells are still in resonable condition but the frames and fittings are now need refurbishments tenor bell is 9cwt in a flat hope you all like the 3 cheshire churches 1 was overwinsford st chads with a ground floor 8 bells 2 church was st bertolines barthomleys church cheshire near crew with 8 bells the last one was st james the great was adlem church with 6 bells
