now this is normanton church all saints which i was waiting for the quarters chimes to ring out on 2 bells up in the tower but unfortanley they were broken so it didnt chime at all but it struck the hours on the 3third bell only better than nothing or what so ever ok its a real shame why its not a 6 bell tower you can get another smaller 3 up there so it sounds nice to ring 6 bells not many bellringers want to ring at a 3 bell tower if you ring the treble bell theres only 2 other bells to follow infront of you or behinde you ok its ok going to a 3 bell tower to learn how to become a bellringer to start rounds on 3 bells for the beginers and little children that shouldnt be a problem for them its a start of learning to handle a bell so as they get good like us then take them to ring at a 5 bell tower like woolley st peters or meanwood near leeds the heavyst peal of 5 in west yorkshire then as the weeks years go by then go to a 6 bell tower so they can ring rounds or plain hunt or kent minor or what ever then eventualley they will be able to ring at any bell tower in the western branch or on a 8 or 10 or 12 bell towers like halifax minster or ossitte holy trinity or even wakefield cathedral with 14 bells by stuart mills bellringer helper like i said its not strait forward you start at a 3 bell tower with 2 other ringers like normanton all saints or featherstone all saints or methley st olswalds church near rothwell leeds way also roundhay st johns near leeds is a 3 bell tower for the beginers yes it would do them good then when they can ring call changes on their own full circle ringing every practice then try a 5 bell tower only 2 more bells to follow in the call changes by stuart mills then the experenced ringers can ring at a 6 or 8 or 10 or 12 bell towers around the addults teams yes york minster and st pauls cathedral in london are a bit speceall churches you cant just turn up at their practices still 12 bell towers the ringing is a little bit speceall for experenced bellringers you have to sign in by by the minster police and fill in a form ring up to see if you can ring at a practice night alot of the churches cathedrals will let you ring at there practice nights most of the cathedrals around yes as long as they know who you are and they say what can you ring now if you become a member of a church bell tower you need to ring your first quarter peal first then a full peal lasting up to 3 hours with out a break then when you have done all that then you get a sertificet and a yorkshire assosiation book then you get made a member of the yorkshire assosiation of change ringers what tower you ring at yes it means you can ring on a sunday mornings weddings it takes a long long time to get through this
