☾S T O R Y☽

The Kyuubi: A Twist on the Traditional Tale of “Kaguya Hime” - Finale

Decades later.

Somewhere in the night sky, a group of friends reminisce on the bonds they forged long ago. Once caged, once caught in the illusion of the “evil kyuubi”, they were at last together again.

Their feathers ruffled in the wind, and hand in hand they smiled. These were truly the best moments. More than any tangible pelt, they were content in the simple pleasure of being friends. Truly, the greatest things in life were invisible to the eye. The angels thought to themselves, one day they’d like to be reborn and smile under the waning moon once more.

This end to their story was not a dramatic one, not one wrought with excitement nor deafening crescendos. But it was simple, clean - a peaceful closure to a life previously deemed guilt-ridden and saddening.

The wolf howls, yet it howls to be noticed and loved.

The caged bird sings, yet it escapes only in death.

And finally, the invisible red string of fate brings together those victim to their circumstances, giving them wings to fly after all is said and done.

We thank you for listening to our story, and we hope the moonlight shines down upon you.

☾I N T E R P R E T A T I O N☽

Instead of a powerful rock song, we decided to choose a song that better fit our idea of the ending to our story: something nostalgic, calm, and representative of our wishes to be together. “Moonlight Embellishment Girl” fits that message to a T in that it describes how the circle of life will always occur; Angela may have died, but they knew they’d be together again one day. As angels, the friends were reunited, and they prayed to God that one day they could be reincarnated and be friends once more in the next life. After a story of trials and tribulations, we were able to find a peaceful end to our turbulent lives, and that is what we wish to convey with this song.
