How to work the Twisted Knit Stitch and Twisted 2X2 Rib

In this video, I'll show you how I create the brims of most of my hat patterns, which uses the 2X2 Twisted Rib.

To knit the twisted rib, you need to use the twisted knit stitch. This is done simply by inserting the needle from right to left, front to back and knitting it. (It's kind of like combining the knit and the purl stitch).

This results in a knit stitch (with the bump from the previous round in the back), that is twisted. The twisting causes the stitch to sit on top rather than in line with the purls as a normal 2x2 rib does.
