The 1st Cartridge type Electro-magnetic Gramophone pickup by DECCA (FFrr type C) FFrr= Full Frequency Range Recording.
dating to 1947-48 when it was offered to the home audiophile separate from a record player to upgrade to a new modern tonal level with a variable reluctance or moving iron pickup, small in dimensions but without the need for a step-up-transformer that had become a common factor in this, the post war Era of increasingly smaller output moving coil & moving Iron pickups.
The pickup detaches from the Arm by way of a bayonet fixing that resembles the back of a light bulb. The head hinges to access the back of the pickup & replace the stylus which is a self contained unit with a bonded rubber damping. A really good pickup !
