Footage for this program was shot in the first decade of the 21st Century, and the DVD was released in 2010.

Starting at Chester, Illinois, at the break of dawn on a spring morning, we look at the Chester Subdivision as it was in the second half of the first decade of the century. We work our way southward along the line to Thebes, stopping at locations such as Cora, Gorham, John's Spur, Aldridge, LaRue, McClure and Gale.

We wrap our look on the banks of the Mississippi River at Thebes, as trains cross the bridge from Missouri.
