Casa Aviv: Harmonious Fusion of Indoor and Outdoor Spaces in Tulum

Casa Aviv, designed by CO-LAB Design Office, epitomizes the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living in the lush jungle setting of Tulum, Mexico. This modern private residence, spanning 330 m², is a testament to thoughtful architecture that prioritizes natural light, ventilation, and handcrafted finishes.

The house features two parallel volumes that accommodate four en-suite bedrooms, an open kitchen, dining and living areas, a private pool, and a 360º roof terrace. The east-west orientation maximizes the benefits of prevailing winds and cross ventilation, while north-oriented skylights diffuse soft, natural light throughout the interior spaces, creating a serene interplay of light and shadow.

Casa Aviv's aesthetic is defined by its warm grey polished cement walls, contrasted with black terrazzo floors and charred cedar wood carpentry. These elements, combined with custom-designed furnishings and lighting, crafted by local artisans and CO-LAB’s workshop, create a cohesive and sophisticated atmosphere.

On the ground floor, the living and dining areas, kitchen, and two bedrooms open directly to the garden, enhancing the connection between interior and exterior. The master bedroom boasts a private patio with direct pool access, while the double-height living space extends seamlessly to the pool and garden through floor-to-ceiling pivoting glass doors.

The first floor features two additional bedrooms connected by a bridge under a skylight, offering picturesque views of the surrounding jungle. Designed for durability and low maintenance, Casa Aviv is a resilient sanctuary that perfectly reflects the natural beauty and tranquility of its Tulum location.
