It was a slow Sunday Afternoon on August 25th, 2024 and with spending yet another afternoon up at the BC Forest Museum, I went up to Brian the Engineer and asked, "How much do I have to pay the front counter to have ONE ride in the engine?" After a long pause, he beckoned. It might have only been a 1/2 km ride back, but WHAT A THRILL. The RUMBLE. The sound of the Boiler and Furnace. The blast of the Steam whistle. INCREDIBLE. Thanks so much, Boys- THAT WAS A SUNDAY TREAT FOR ME! So- A ride in the Hillcrest Shay #1 from North Cowichan Station back to the main Alderlea Station. Resolution is 4K, 60 fps.
