Ingredients:

For Dough :
Wheat flour 3 cups
Gram flour 1 cup
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Carom seeds 1/2 tspn
Salt 1/2 tspn
Red chilli powder 1/2 tspn
Oil 3-4 tspn
Garam masala 1/2 tspn

For Daal :
Tuwar daal 2 cups
Dhuli moong daal 1/2 cup
Whole red chilli 3-4
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Ginger grated 1 inch
Green chillies chopped 2-4
Onion chopped 2
Tomato chopped 2
Cumin 1/2 tspn
Salt according to taste (half before - half after )
Red chilli powder 1/2 tspn
Turmeric powder 1/2 tspn ( half before - half after )
Coriander powder 1/2 tspn
Mustard 1/2 tspn
Roasted peanut 1/2 cup
Tamarind water 1 cup
Water as needed
Oil 1 tblspn

Process:

For dough :
Take wheat flour and gram flour in a bowl. Add asafoetida, carom seeds, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and oil. Then add water as needed and prepare a normal dough ( neither hard nor soft). Give rest for 10 minutes.
Now take a portion of dough and make a small ball of it , then press it in between hands and make a hole in it as shown. Prepare all the "dhokli" in the same way.

For daal:
Put soaked tuwar daal and dhuli moong daal in a pressure cooker. Now add salt , turmeric powder in it. Add water as needed, then cook it well.

Now heat oil in a pan. Put asafoetida, mustard, cumin in it. Add ginger, then add green chillies and onion and cook until becomes golden brown. Now put spices ( red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder ). Now add tomato, cook well. Now add boiled daal in it and mix it well. Now add peanut and then tamarind water.Now add water more than needed so the dhokli can cook well in it. (Dhokli absorbs lots of water).Now boil it for a minute.
Now put all the "dhokli" in in the daal and cover the pan with lid. Cook it for 20 minutes on medium flame. Stir the daal in every one or two minutes so the daal and dhokli will not stick in the pan and they will cook well.
