The Dzongri and Goechala trek is no doubt one of the best trek in Indian Himalayan region, thus mentioned in the diaries of every trekker. We started our trek from Yuksom, West Sikkim, which is also The first Capital of sikkim, follows a gradual climb to Tshoka through the dense tropical forest. Between the trial till Tshoka you can witness beautiful flowers, rivers, waterfalls, mountain range etc. From Yuksom till Tshoka it almost takes 7/8 hours of walking. Though it was little tiring for every trekkers till Tshoka but the sunset and the night full of stars will definitely makes you feel worth it. Next morning you can witness beautiful sunrise over Mt. Pandim and explore Tshoka for a while, which allows you to witness beautiful lake and monastery and the lifestyle of people living there in Tshoka for a couple of months. After exploring Tshoka we started again for Dzongri base camp, In between you can witness beautiful trail which almost covered by Rhododendron tress and have to walk through logs. After hours of walking you'll. reach Phindang, Phidang is a resting point from where you can divert your route to Goechala but that's a bad idea. None trekkers want to miss Dzongri ,so for that from Phidang you have to start walking again for a couple of hours till Dzongri, In between you'll reach another resting point that is Maney Dara, and the best thing about Maney Dara is you can call your loved ones, which means you literally get full network on your Jio sim. So after relaxing couple of hours in Maney Dara finally you'll reach your first point that is Dzongri base camp.
Take good rest in Dzongri base camp, acclimatize yourself so that you won't miss beautiful Sunrise next morning over the Dzongri top.
Early morning by 3:30 am you have to start for Dzongri top from base camp so you'll reach by time on top to witness beautiful sunrise & 360 degree view of the entire Sikkim & Darjeeling Himalayas. Ranging from far east , the whole North and expands till Bhutan touching horizons of West. Rathong, Kokthang, Frey peak, Kabru North, South & Dome, Khangchendzonga, Pandim, Narsing, Tinchenkhang, Simvo are amongst them to name a few major ones.

After Dzongri Top we started for Thangsing, where we hult for a night. In between, towards Thangsing you'll witness picturesque landscapes over the trail and after hours of walking you'll reach Kockchurong and can rest there for couple of hours. After couple of hours of walking from Kockchurong you'll reach Thangsing. Thangsing is a beautiful valley and also a last base camp before Goechala. After Thangsing there is Lhamu Ney which is also another base camp, but mostly trekkers prefer Thangsing for hult, so prabably we consider Thangsing as last Base camp.

For Goechala you have to start at midnight that would be almost 2/3 am. The reason behind starting early is the sunrise above the mountain range and the good weather. IF you start late than of course you'll miss sunrise but besides that you won't be able to summit also.

so finally best month to visit Dzongri/ Goechala trek

October is usually a good time to trek this route.
March-May and September-December
