Slap Fight, Developed by John Meegan and published by Imagine in 1987. Also known as Alcon in the US.

An arcade original game by Taito and converted to the C64 and other 8/16 bit computers of the time. It’s a fairly simple Shoot em up and doesn't look too bad for a 1987 c64 game. It plays ok with some nice music but the collision detection can feel a bit ropey at times especially when using the extra wings powerup (allows you to take more hits). As quick as it is collected , it is shot away again. The laser weapon doesn't seem to display properly. You just have to know that any enemy in front of you will be killed when fired. It's not bad as a shoot em up on the C64, but I would not say its a must play or anything.

The Longplay opens with Ocean Loader v3 by Peter Clarke before playing out the title screen music which sounds really naff after the great loader tune. It all starts to sound like the music was ripped from the Master System. I then play through one loop of the game and steadily lose any remaining lives in the second Although I think I do try to get the maximum shields/wings powerup.
