Michael Collins Part 2 1918

Directed and edited by Marcus Howard. 1918 Acquisition and Analysis. The Irish War of Independence which began in 1919 could not have happened without the pre-planning and organisation carried out in 1918. This feature length film (103 mins) covers 1918, presenting Michael Collins as you have never seen him before. It contains new information, unseen photographs, interviews with his close relatives such as Pól O'Murchú, Angus O'Malley, Mary Clare Collins Powell and those who knew him best.

Interesting historical perspectives are given by respected published historians such as Joseph EA Connell Jr, who has written "Michael Collins Dublin 1916-22, Liz Gillis, Dominic Price, Derek Molyneux, Mícheál O'Doibhilín and also feature Lord Mayor of Dublin Mícheál Mac Donncha, Ronnie Daly and Liam Neeson. Important landmark buildings in the Collins' story are shown so they can be looked at with new eyes. A comprehensive detailed account of Collins's Army of Women and the study of tactical military strategies from abroad also feature. This film presents Collins, the administrative genius who ran the revolution as a modern day CEO.
