How To Change Oil & Oil Filter on Your 2005 Acura TSX

It's annoying to wait over an hour for a shop to do an oil change, so do it yourself if you have the space to do it. Here's my video on doing an oil change on the first generation Acura TSX. Information in this video is helpful for beginners. I did not address it in the video, but my interval for changing my oil is 6k miles or every 6 months (whichever comes first). I noticed that if I let my car sit overnight and drain the oil in the morning (without turning on the car) I get more oil out of the engine.

Check engine oil level hot or cold? The manual says to run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature and then turn off the engine, wait about 5 mins, and then check your oil level using the dipstick.

Reset Service Oil Light for the Acura TSX.
Insert key, but do not turn it. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button and turn key in ignition to (II) – do not start the engine. Continue to hold the TRIP/RESET button for 10 seconds until light resets. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
