Using the Body Trust Framework to Address the Impacts of Weight Stigma & Body Oppression | WSAW 2024

Описание к видео Using the Body Trust Framework to Address the Impacts of Weight Stigma & Body Oppression | WSAW 2024

Join us as we learn about Body Trust, a strengths-based, trauma-informed, scientifically grounded healing modality that offers people a way out of the predictable, repetitive pattern of dieting, disordered eating and weight cycling fueled by trauma, weight stigma, anti-fat bias, and body based oppression. Holding up a mirror to what we have been taught to believe about weight and health can be confronting.

In this presentation, Sirius Bonner, Hilary Kinavey, and Dana Sturtevant will share the healing phases people often encounter as they work to break free from a culture of body perfection, disordered eating and other traumas. The Body Trust Framework supports clinicians and the people they serve by shifting their focus from “body as project” to a liberatory and healing paradigm.
