Mass Effect 3 Ending Was REWRITTEN at the LAST MINUTE… This is the Original Ending Concept

Here's the gist of the original ending concept: Once Shepard beamed up to the top of the station, instead of meeting the star child the Commander would plug into a virtual world and meet the God of the Reapers, dubbed the Reaper Queen.

During this conversation, the Queen explains that the current cycles of Reaper harvests are not sustainable… and that the Reapers would have to evolve if civilization was going to move forward. But unfortunately due to the limitations of their AI programming and constraints, the Reapers are incapable of evolving on their own.

When the Queen explained its point of view to the rest of the Reapers, they basically locked her away in a virtual machine in the Citadel, happily harvesting away and continuing the cycles. But since Shepard has now found the Reaper Queen, the Commander has the opportunity to evolve everything.

At this point the player would be presented with the final choice of the game. There was a paragon choice, a renegade choice and a third option.
