Suzuki DL 1000 V-Strom - Budget Bike Hero!

However, after some diligent searching on Facebook Marketplace (yeah I'm on a budget), I found a Suzuki V-Strom DL 1000 that offered incredible value. While I don't intend to take it off-road, the unpredictable UK roads sometimes make it feel like I am!

While the bike I purchased had seen better days, with signs of wear and tear from its time spent outside it's still solid and came with a full service history. I'll take some time to restore it over the winter. But for now, I'm focused on essential service work and, most importantly, riding it. I've even adjusted my insurance to include work use, allowing me to see clients and complete job surveys on this remarkable machine. Who knows, I might even get a chance to do a track day with it next year!

The Suzuki V-Strom DL 1000's motor is a true gem for road riding, offering ample low-end torque that makes navigating real road situations a breeze compared to my previous bikes. The handling, while heavier than my GSXR, proves more than capable for the road's demands. Remember, the road isn't about setting new lap records – if that's your goal, grab a van and a track bike.
