Ingredients required:

Sareng Thongba:
Sareng / Boal fish, 2 kg 250 g
Mustard oil, 350 ml
Hooker chives, 1 cup
Chives, 2 cup
Onion, 1 (medium)
Garlic , 10/12 cloves
Ginger, 1 inch piece
Citrus latipes / heiribob , 5/6 pc
Green chillies, 10/12 pc
King chilli/ Oo morok, 1
Chopped Coriander leaves, 1 cup
Ngari, 1 big piece
Rice water/ cheng mahi , as per requirement
Chilli powder, 2 tbsp+ 1/2
Turmeric powder , 1 tbsp
Besan, 1/2 tbsp
Hing/ asafoetida , a pinch
Chopped coriander leaves 2 cup

Spice & condiments
1) spice soaked in water:
Whole Jeera/ cumin , 1/2 tsp
Coriander , 1/2 tsp
Fennel seed, 1/3 tsp
Methi/ fenugreek , less than 1/4 tsp
Mustard seed, less than 1/4 tsp
Kali jeera / Kalonji, 1/4 tsp

2) Masala mix: 3 tbsp
Preparation :
Whole Jeera, 2 tsp
Coriander seeds, 2 tsp
Dalchini/ Cinnamon stick, 1/2 inch
Star anise / chakra phool, 1
Black cardamom / badi elaichi, 1 pc
Javitri/ nutmeg mace, 1
Nutmeg/ Jaiphal, 1/2 pc
Black pepper/ kali mirch, 1/4 tsp

Total cooking time = 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on intensity of your gas flame 🔥
Prefered Mode of cooking : Slow cooking
