Founders of A D Lab
Founded by Warren Liu and Darlene Smyth, A D Lab is a research-based architecture practice centred on creating new and emergent experiences shaped by the site, intertwined with economics, and moulded to the programme of each individual project. Consciously unbounded by any form, style or genre, A D Lab is a practice that strives freely to converge needs and context into a simple yet elegant solution. A D Lab is solution-seeking, for one that evokes a sense of uncomplicated complexity, while staying true to its core values to solving issues in a practical yet poetic manner. As practicing architects, A D Lab sees the value of design through education and have been committed to imparting design knowledge as part time tutors at the National University of Singapore. As of 2020, A D Lab has been awarded the German Design Award for the Monomer House, adding to A D Lab's trail blazing list of accolades. In 2019, A D Lab was awarded the Design and Build Awards UK for Up-Peel House, a contemporary residential project.
