Austin mini brake master cylinder replacement

Описание к видео Austin mini brake master cylinder replacement

In this video I show you how I changed the brake master cylinder on my classic mini thirty.

Over the past while I've been recommissioning my mini 30 as it's been parked up for over 18 months and also the car is not getting any younger so a full brake rebuild was in order as this is a safety critical part of the car and something you shouldn't take any chances with.

The old cylinder did still function but didn't feel smooth, mainly because the rubber seals inside the master cylinder were beginning to perish and become hard. First step was to get the car up on Axle stands then I drained off the brake fluid from the tank on the master cylinder and dispose of it. Once the fluid was drained off I disconnected the brake pipes and then unbolted the master cylinder from the servo. At this point you would usually just reinstall the new master cylinder in reverse order of how you removed it but I decided to remove the servo and give that a coat of fresh paint so it would compliment the new master cylinder.
