North America and the Polar Frontier at the Columbus & Aquarium. Filmed July 10, 2023.

After 40 years the Columbus Zoo’s historic North America region is receiving a major revamp, with new habitats for Otters, Wolves, Black Bears, and Eagles, but today we’re celebrating what was for decades of the country’s premier North American attractions! Our journey through the North American woodlands begins with Trumpeter Swans and the endangered Mexican Gray Wolf. We’ll reminisce about the now gone beauties of the Great Plains, meet rescued Black Bears and Alaskan Moose! Stepping out of the woods, we’ll journey to the Arctic with 2010’s Polar Frontier, highlighted by some of the best Brown and Polar Bear habitats ever built. Back in the original North America, there’s Mountain Lions, ferocious Wolverines, and lots of chattering birds. Rounding out the trail with America’s symbol, we’ll look forward to what’s coming for North America in the future!
