$5 FIRST CLASS Train in Sri Lanka (NOT What I Expected!) 🇱🇰

Having spent a few days battling the heat and pollution in Sri Lanka’s capital city, Colombo, i was eager to head south for a beach day.

I’d heard good things about Galle, so i decided to catch a train down to stay at a super cheap hostel (Bara Beach House) which had cost me just $3, and promised an ocean front view.

I used 12go to book a first class ticket online for just $5 - which, whilst amazing value, was somehow more expensive than where i would be staying in Boossa.

Whilst the journey got off to a good start from Colombo, the weather took a turn, and the predatory rickshaw drivers that awaited me outside Galle railway station were something else…

Nontheless, the day ended with a sunset stroll down the beach with a cold lion beer and night of live music ahead, and of course, my $3 bed!
