This video shows the techniques used by Cumbria Wildlife Trust to block drainage 'grips' and restore peatlands in Cumbria. It also explains why restoring peatlands is important for nature conservation and sustainable land management.

We are working in partnership with specialist contractors and farmers, helping other landowners to protect peatlands in the uplands.

Filmed on moorland above Longsleddale, where work was funded by Natural England's Higher Level Stewardship scheme.
