While very basic, the Bachmann passenger cars are now available in the early (1875) paint job. Including the "Elsa". Dan Markoff's home-made business car to be pulled by his original 1877 locomotive.

Bachmann "Big Hauler" is their most basic large scale line of trains. And while most are very basic they are never the less quite nice. The passenger cars are based on Jackson and Sharp cars, have full interiors, lighting and super nice paint. Lacking in many details, especially on the underside, they still look great and run well.

The prototype Elsa is a recreation of the Eureka and Palisade business car "Palisade" located at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder Nevada, which is also where Dan Markoff has built the Elsa.

Dan Markoff is best known for his restoration of Eureka and Palisades number 4, the Eureka 4-4-0 1875 steam locomotive. However, after finishing the restoration in 1991, he set to work building a flat car and then in 1994 a recreation of the Palisade, a combine passenger car. Other than the wheels, the entire car has been built from the ground up. After 22 years, the car was finished Tuesday.

The car is scheduled to make its first run in Colorado on the Cumbres and Toltec railroad in August 2020. Virus cooperating.
