Описание к видео "The Art of Real-Time Mathematics" | Guest Lecture by Freya Holmér | Harvard GSD-6338

In this guest lecture, Freya Holmér will share some of her recent work at the intersection of mathematics and art, and engage in a real-time interactive lecture to unpack examples of these concepts. Recorded on 2022/11/22.

Freya is a game developer and technical artist, whose work revolves around visually exploring the formal beauty of mathematics, with video games and education as her main medium of expression. She studied Game Design at the Futuregames school in Stockholm, where she learned more about game development, programming, 3D modeling and art. She has worked as developer and technical artist in multiple game development projects, including Budget Cuts 1 & 2, Rawmen and NUTS. Her contributions to the community include tools such as Shapes--a shader-based vector graphics library--, Shader-Forge—a node-based shader editor for Unity--, an extension to Unity’s Math library, multiple visualizations and explanations of mathematical concepts via her Twitter and YouTube accounts, and multiple tutorial series on her popular YouTube and Twitch channels. She is also the mother of Toast, Thor & Salad.
