A day in the life of an Academic (Coleraine Campus Version - Ulster University - Northern Ireland)

Another Day in the Life of an Academic is my third attempt to capture a little of my working life. This time in Green Coleraine! He Featuring parts of the dept… our Coleraine Labs and more.

It doesn’t matter what you do in life… what matters is that you try to make the most of it each day because folks that’s all we have! THE PRESENT! All else is an illusion. Although once again I am glad I lived far enough into the future to be able to edit this video :D

Eight years ago I created the video "A Day in the Life of an Academic" (you can find it on this YouTube channel) I have no idea where the years went but it was time I created another video.

Hope you enjoy a little bit of my madness. To younger Academics, I say this: have no fear I work crazy hours because I chose to, no one forces me. In this video you can see even after the academic day is over I can't stop, I blame the Duracell I swalowoed when I was a kid.

To me Life and Work are part of the same continuum so I do not seek a work-life balance as others understand it. I seek happiness and focus in everything I do, be it PhD meetings time, family time, work time, Labs time or carpentry and blues harp time :)
