MEDICINAL MEAT Recipes 🇹🇭 🇨🇳 3rd Generation Immigrant Family (Food = Medicine, Medicine = Food)

Happiness in food form, not only in terms of incredible and traditional flavors, but also for HEALTH! Food is Medicine, and Medicine is food, and there are few more examples on Earth more beautiful than the Chinese cooking style of "Tun" (which, in Thai language, refers to this style of steaming, but also with the purpose of simplicity and health in cooking).

Learning more about these beautiful Chinese food traditions has been a fascinating time for me - one that started in China about 5 years ago. After visiting Li's family in the South of China, it was an eye-opening and awesome series of meals that continued on through trips to Malaysia, Singapore, and now today continues to find me happily learning while adventuring back home in Thailand.

The Chinese influence in South and South East Asia is storied, at times incredibly vibrant, but also often-times very complex, exising beneath the surface. You will see me get so excited about something like this today, in just the single example of this wonderful women and her favorite family recipes!

Hat Yai continues to blow us away with its wonderful melting-pot of beautiful people, and I am very happy to share this video with YOU today. Thank you for hanging out with us, we still have 2 more days left in Hat Yai, and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to make this trip in the first place.

PRICES:
Every dish on the menu (except for one, the bird's nest soup w/stewed pork is 150 baht) costs 50 baht, the ginger and sesame "soup circles" also cost 50 baht, and finally the cooling grass jelly costs 30 baht.
