Chavand Fort is also known as Prasannagad , situated near Shivneri Fort,Junnar -the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj , the founder of Maratha Kingdom in India.

Chavand or Chawand fort is one of the forts of Maharashtra which is known for its history, specially in the era of Maratha Swarajya.

Junnar region has many forts such as Shivneri Fort, Chavand Fort, Jivdhan Fort, Dhakoba Fort, Hadsar Fort, Sindola Fort etc... Also an ancient road is there in this region called as Naneghat.
Junnar is full of Historical Forts and places.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj renamed this fort as Prasannagad.

This fort is around 110 kilometer away from Pune and about 170 kilometer away from Mumbai.

Surely this is a must visit place from Pune, and a popular fort in Pune.
