Lament for Gandalf

The next poem appears on page 359 of the 50th anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings.

Just before getting to bed in the Forest of Lórien, Frodo decide to pay tribute to his passed friend Gandalf.

The song is mainly a sad ballad sung by Frodo. But It changes the mood at the very end when Sam decides to join in and point out the magnificent fireworks Gandalf was able to put on display.
