RICK McKAY'S ELAINE STRITCH: AT LIBERTY from PBS' EGG: THE ARTS SHOW

Very sad BREAKING NEWS that ELAINE STRITCH has passed away at 89 this morning. I am attaching the piece I produced, directed and shot much of at PBS for EGG: THE ARTS SHOW (later licensed by TRIO) that inspired the HBO doc that credited me as producer as they used much of my footage and would win Elaine another Emmy. This was after I had filmed Elaine for BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE and Elaine and I knew each other quite well by then. My team and I are the only ones who documented the creation of ELAINE STRITCH: AT LIBERTY, so enjoy this brief piece as it brings Elaine back to us at the top of her game - and I will try and post more unreleased footage soon. Sweet dreams dear Elaine. May your journey be swift and and joyous and free from earthly shackles. You left a memory on the planet and you will never be forgotten - not if I have my way anyway!
