Ep. 12 ಅತ್ರಿ-ಅನಸೂಯಾ ಅಮೋಘ ಜೋಡಿ | Atri Maharshi - Mahabharata Moola-Purusha | Mahabharatha Darshana

ಋಷಿಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ದಂಪತಿಗಳೆಂದರೆ ವಸಿಷ್ಠ- ಅರುಂಧತಿಯರು . ಈ ಜೋಡಿಗಿನ್ನ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತೂಕ ವಾದದ್ದು ಅನಸೂಯಾ-ಅತ್ರಿ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯ . ಏಕೆ ? ಮೊದಲ ಜೋಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರುಂಧತಿ ಹೆಸರು ಅಷ್ಟು ಮಿಂಚಿಲ್ಲ . ಆದರೆ ಅತ್ರಿಯ ಹೆಸರಿಗಿನ್ನ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಸುಪರಿಚಿತವಿರುವುದು ಅನಸೂಯಾ ! ಅದು ಆಕೆಯ ತೇಜಸ್ಸು ! ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನು ? ಅದೇ ಆಕೆಯ ಪಾತಿವ್ರತ್ಯಶಕ್ತಿ ! ಅದರ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನೂ ಚಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇ ! ಸೀತೆಯೂ ಬಾಗಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇ !

ಸುಮತಿಯೆಂಬ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಪತಿವ್ರತೆ . ಗಂಡನ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಸೂರ್ಯನೇ ಹುಟ್ಟಬಾರದೆಂದು ಶಪಿಸಿದ್ದಳು ! ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನಾಲ್ಕಲ್ಲ ; ನಲವತ್ತೆಂಟು ಘಂಟೆಗಳಾದರೂ ಕತ್ತಲೆ ! ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯವಾಗಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ !! ದೇವತೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಅನಸೂಯೆಯ ಮೊರೆಹೊಕ್ಕರು ! ..... ಏನು ಈ ಕಥೆ ? ಫಲಿತವೇನು ?

ರಾಕ್ಷಸರು ಉಪಟಳ ಕೊಟ್ಟು , ಋಷಿಗಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯಙ್ಞ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಕಪ್ಪು ಮೋಡಗಳಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಯಾಗವಾಟಿಕೆಯನ್ನಾವರಿಸಿದರು !! ಋತ್ವಿಜರಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ಮೊಂಕು . ಯಙ್ಞಕುಂಡ ಸ್ತಬ್ಧ . ಯಾರ ಮುಖ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಾಣದು . ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಖಕ್ಕೂ ಬೂದಿ . ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಶರಣಾಗತರಾದದ್ದು ಅತ್ರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ! ಆಗ ಅತ್ರಿಗಳೇನು ಮಾಡಿದರು ? ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಪಾರಿತೋಷಕವೇನು ? ..........

ಅಸಲು " ಅತ್ರಿ " ಶಬ್ದಾರ್ಥವೇನು ? ತಾಪತ್ರಯವೆಂದರೇನು ? ಸಂಚಿತ, ಪ್ರಾರಬ್ಧ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಗಾಮಿಗಳ ಅರ್ಥವೇನು ? ಇವಕ್ಕೂ ಅತ್ರಿಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ಸಂಬಂಧವೇನು ? ತುಸು ದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾರದರು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅನಸೂಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ! ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ! ಅದೆಂದರೆ " ಅಮ್ಮಾ , ನಾನು ವ್ರತವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ . ಅದರ ಸಮಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ತುಸು ಕಷ್ಟವಾದ ಅಡುಗೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು . ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಕಡಲೆ ಇದೆ . ಅದನ್ನು ಬೇಯಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಂದು‌ ನಾನು ವ್ರತ ಮುಗಿಸುವೆ . "

ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಕಡಲೆಯಂತೆ ! ಬೇಯಿಸಬೇಕಂತೆ ! ........ ಅನಸೂಯೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಳೇ ಸವಾಲನ್ನು ? ...... ನೋಡಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೆಯ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನು !

From "MahaDivya" or "Linga" emerged nine Prajapatis, one of them being Atri Maharshi, who is the Moola-Purusha of Mahabharata. From his sons and grandsons the vamsha continued.

Guruji has explained the meaning of the name "Atri" in great detail and described various special qualities that he possessed, with examples of yagnyas which he had saved from Rakshashas' destruction. So much so that even today, it's a custom to give gold as offering to a Ritvija with "Atri" gotra, for the protection of a yagnya.

Anusuya, his chaste wife was also equally capable and with the power of her chaste character, she could achieve what may be considered impossible.

Guruji has narrated one story here of another chaste woman who stopped the Sun from rising and Sati Anusuya resolved the crisis.

At the end of the episode is another story of how Sage Narada has come to her, with a seemingly impossible task of cooking iron balls. What happens next we shall get to know only in the next episode.
