The American Southwest’s Not-so-“Extinct” Volcanoes; 36 Likely to Erupt Again

Описание к видео The American Southwest’s Not-so-“Extinct” Volcanoes; 36 Likely to Erupt Again

There are three dozens volcanoes which are largely forgotten in the United States, despite the fact that they are likely to one day erupt again. These are the nation's dormant volcanoes, which are much more likely to erupt than many people think. In fact, at least one of these 36 dormant volcanoes in the lower 48 U.S. states is statistically likely (68.35% chance) to erupt by the year 3,000 CE. This video discusses the lower 48's 36 dormant volcanoes, which are not as extinct as many people might believe them to be.

Note: This video contains significant interpretations based purely on the opinion of GeologyHub. The odds of each dormant volcano erupting each year are purely an educated guess and are not a certified or verified figure. Additionally, GeologyHub interprets some volcanoes listed in this video as dormant when in reality certain listings might never erupt again.
