Video tutorial on how to knit an advanced version of the Chevron Lace stitch (traditional knitting pattern).

Level: Intermediate
Abbreviations: K=knit; K2tog=knit 2 stitches together; K2togTBL=knit 2 stitches together through the back loops; P=purl; SKP=slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1 stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over; SK2P=slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 2 stitches together, then pass the slipped stitch over; st=stitch; YO=bring the yarn over.

Pattern: This stitch as shown in the video is knit over a multiple of 8 sts + 2 st (eg, 22, 32, 42, etc). The pattern involves 2 set-up rows (done only once) and then a 10-row repeat. After cast on:
Set-up row 1 (right side): K1, *K5, YO, K2tog, K1. Repeat from * until last st, then K1.
Set-up row 2: P all sts
Then follow pattern as:
Row 1 (right side): K1, *K3, K2togTBL, YO, K1, YO, K2tog. Repeat from * until last st, then K1.
Row 2 and Rows 4, 6, & 8: P all sts.
Row 3: K2, *K1, K2togTBL, YO, K3, YO K2tog. Repeat from * until end of row.
Row 5: K1, *YO, K2togTBL, then return the st back to left needle and pass the second st on left needle over this st, then return the st back to right needle, YO, K5. Repeat from * until last st, then K1.
Row 7: K1, *K1, KFB, K6. Repeat from * until last st, then K1.
Row 9: K1, *K2tog, K4, YO, K2tog, K1. Repeat from * until last st, then K1.

Repeat Rows 1-10 for the pattern.

Notes:
1) Can use any method of cast on and bind off is a regular bind off.
2) After Row 7, your st count will increase by 1 st for each 8 st segment (but they will decrease back to the original st count when you complete Row 9).
3) If you knit a project with this pattern, consider stopping the pattern on Row 8 (as mentioned in the video).
3) Since bottom and side edges may roll, consider adding a few rows of a border stitch at the bottom (a garter stitch or seed stitch). May also add a few sts on either side of the main sts for side edges. Note that if you do this, these are in addition to the "multiple of 8 + 2 sts" that you need for the pattern itself.
